Our Staff

I believe that staff and parent communication is an important factor to successful childcare.  I want to take a moment to introduce you to the Tender Times Team.  They all have very caring, supportive, and understanding personalities; as well as bringing great qualities individually to our center.  I think you will enjoy getting to know each and every one of them. Once again, Welcome to Tender Times Child Care Center Inc.!
 
All staff at our center are required to pass a Criminal Background Check, FBI fingerprint background check, Child Abuse Clearance, Well exams and TB tests, Pediatric CPR and First Aid, Annual Fire Safety, Emergency Preparedness, Health and Safety,  Inclusive Practices, and Child Observation Trainings as well as many others.
 
All staff also offer parent/ teacher conferences every 6 months to discuss childrens growth and development in alignment with PA Early Learning Standards ;as well as provide the opportunity for parents to voice any questions, concerns, or suggestions they may have about their child or our program.
Brooke Harman-Owner/Director/ Preschool Teacher

Hi! I'm Brooke Harman! The owner and Lead Preschool Teacher at Tender Times Child Care Center Inc. I was born April 11, 1984. I graduated from Millersburg Area High School, and then went on to obtain my degree in Elementary Education.  I am currently in the process of achieving my directors credential.

 

I have always wanted to work with children.  My dream started as a child wanting to be a pediatrician, then to a child psychologist as a high schooler, and then to my dream which I am now living, as a proud owner/ director of Tender Times Child Care Center Inc.  We have been established since 2007.  I am a very ambitious individual which makes each and every day a new learning experience as I discover how to improve and create the best atmosphere and program for the children. 

 

I have several years experience working with children in the daycare settings, and also in school and home atmospheres.  I was last employed as a TSS (therapeutic staff support) where I gained my experience working with children of all types, including; ADD, ADHD, Autism, Asperger's, ODD, Fragile X, and many other challenges.  I continue to attend trainings to advance my knowledge in all areas. 

 

Children always have a way of brightening your day.  The things they do and say each day make every day fun and exciting.  As they learn from me, I learn from them. I love to hear their words of wisdom, encouragement, compliments, and new discoveries throughout the days.  Childrens viewpoints on everything in life are so innocent and refreshing and helps me view life in a different prospective. It keeps me young, ambitious, and dedicated as I do my best to make the sun shine a little more each day for my little friends.

 

On time off, I love to spend time with friends and family, shop, dance, soak up the sunrays, camp, and eat at my favorite restraunt... Red Lobster... and of course my favorite thing of all to do is spend quality time with my little mister Brentyn, and my husband Bryce.

 

 

 

Stephanie Armes/AGS
Infant Teacher

Hi! My name is Stephanie Armes.  I graduated from Susquenita High School in 2006 and went on to obtain my CDA (child development associate). 

 

My experience in childcare began when I was a teen.  During high school I volunteered at a private daycare on and off for 2 years. In august 2006, I began my journey at Tender Years where I assisted the preschool and Pre-K teachers.  I began my position here at Tender Times in June of 2011.  In my spare time I like to read, take walks, paint and take care of my garden. 

 

I can not wait to get to know you and your children.  I look forward to helping your children with their education and grow into the great people they will become!!:)

Nicole Englar/AGS
Toddler Teacher

Hello Everyone!  I am Nicole Englar, and here is a little bit about me! I graduated from Halifax School District in 2010.

 

I began my employment at Tender Times in March of 2012. I have a lot of experience working with children.  I grew up helping my mom with her daycare and I started babysitting as a teenager for friends and family. I spend a lot of time with my niece on a daily basis. I love working with children and helping them learn new things, and being able to see them grow everyday is a joy.

 

Some of the things I like to do on my free time are: softball, (which I have been playing since I was 5 years old and still play to this day), I also like to hike and garden.  I love to be outdoors and spending time with family.  Family is very important to me. I recently married my high school sweetheart, Brant, in October 2012.  We are new homeowners, which keeps me very busy.

 

I love getting to know the parents and children here at Tender Times! Thank you for taking the time to read this and getting to know a little about me!

Hello! My name is Alexandra Johnston, Alex for short.  I graduated from Line Mountain Jr./Sr. High School and Northumberland County Career and Technology Center in 2011.

 

I have been working towards achieving my CDA since my employment here at Tender Times in July 2011. 

 

I have worked with numerous groups of children; including Head Start, K-4, Tiny Tech, and CSIU Preschool.

 

I love to read.  I love taking care of my nephew, Jason. I love singing (even if I'm not to good at it). I am a very easy person to get along with.  I also love meeting new people, so don't be afraid to get to know me:)

Bobbie Scheidler/GS
Preschool Teacher

Hi! I'm Bobbie Scheidler and I was born on May 19, 1984.

 

I obtained my degree in Music Industry from HACC in December 2007.  I have since decided to return to school for Elementary Education.  I am currently attending Penn State Harrisburg and should obtain my bachelor degree in May 2014.

 

Outside of school and work, I enjoy attending concerts, cooking/baking, and spending time with my family and little man- Ryken. 

 

I have always enjoyed spending time with children.  I have been employed at Tender Times Child Care Center Inc. since August 2007 throughout and during my college journey.

 

I look forward to the time I spend with the children here at Tender Times and I feel privileged to be a part of their growth and development.

 

My name is Allison Horchler!  I graduated from Millersburg High School in 2012.  I am currently attending IUP for child development. 

 

I enjoy working with kids and have gained experience through my employment at Tender Times and also by babysitting. 

 

I love being part of the Tender Times Team, and I also love to read.  I love working with all the children at Tender Times Daycare!
